setting up a second wireless router on a network

I was wanting to set up a second wireless router on my wireless network to expand the range of my network. The second router is not wired to the main router but is in the range of the main router's wireless. Is it possible to set this up?

Re: setting up a second wireless router on a network

Nope....because linksys router didn't have any features to communicate wirelessly...It must be connected using hard wire....

What i can suggest is....If you want to extend your wireless signal....you can get an access point for it....For example : WAP54G

This access point can act as a repeater for your wireless signal...Some configuration needed but it is very easy....:smileyhappy:

Some more...it can communicate with your router wirelessly without having any issue about the speed...

Give it a try....

Thank you....

Re: setting up a second wireless router on a network

The other way around will be to buy a wireless ethernet bridge WET54G and connect it to the internet port of the second router .
Now if the ip add of the first router is 192.168.1.1 , change the ip add of the second wireless router to 192.168.2.1
