wrt120n Access Rettriction functionality removed?

All the documentation for this router shows the Access Restriction tab in the router configuration menu.   It's the same as other linksys routers.

The current version of the firmware doesn't have this functionality.  Was it removed?

Try reflashing the firmware and do a factory reset. If that doesn't work, then contact Cisco

I don't work for Cisco. I'm just here to help.

Re: wrt120n Access Rettriction functionality removed?

From looking at some of the posts about other routers, I suspect it has to do with using the cisco management software they bundle with it.  When you run it, they want you to subscribe to their parental control service and the Access Restriction tab is hidden somehow when you use the browser interface.

I'd be interested in hearing from someone who know that this is in fact the case, especially with resptect to this model.   I see in the release notes for this router than one of hte early updates included "support for network defender".    If by  "support", they mean they disable functions and try to get you to subsribe to a service, I think that's pretty cheesy.    I selected this model because I looked at the online documentation and it had the same access restriction functionality I"ve seen other other linksys routers.

The WRT120 does not use the Cisco Connect software, only the new E series.  So you should have the access tab on your router.  Have you looked carefully on all your tabs?

I think I can tell if the access tab is there. I would paste the screenshot, but this interface doesn't seem to allow it. The management software is Cisco Network Magic.

Have you accessed the router directly at 192.168.1.1?
