Using a EA7500 with a fibre modem router

Hello

I just bought a Linksys EA7500 to use as my primary router at home. I diconnectedf the ISP router and connected the EA7500 just the same way as the old router. It will not connect to the internet. Is it possible that i need to set the EA7500 as an access point as it connects to a fibre modem router (Alcatel Lucent i-240g-p)?? Or is it possible thast the EA7500 does not work with the AL i-240g-p??

Please help

Thanks,

Heimir

It could be that PPPoe needs to be configured in the EA7500.

Can you surf the Internet with a computer directly connected to the Alcatel Lucent i-240g-p?

This indicates that either you must register your router's MAC Address with the ISP or PPPoe needs to be configured in your router.

Check you previous router's Internet setting for PPPoe configuration and if there are none then clone your previous router's WAN MAC Address to the EA7500 router.
