Child Node with a Gigabit Network Switch

Hey,

I hope someone can assist me. I’m looking to add a Network Switch to one of the Ethernet ports of a child node, so I can add more wired connections in my bedroom. Is this supported?

Thanks to anyone whom whom can answer my question Smiley Happy

Hi Azirius

I assume your proposed configuration is:

modem -> velop master (router) -> velop (slave) (wireless) -> switch

 Is this correct?

Yes, that is correct! Is that okay? Is there a recommendation for a switch? I would probably be okay with eight-twelve ports as a maximum. I can only think of four devices I’d need to set up but it’s always good to be future proofed Smiley Happy

Hi Azirius --

That would be my suggestion. If you purchases a switch make sure it is an unmanaged switch. Thanks.
