Good point. I did just order an EERO 2nd gen to try next. We will see how that does soon.
Let us know how it goes. I have a dialogue going with Amazon right now and may be in a position to return my Velop even though it is past the "return by date". I have been using these threads and lack of support as evidence. I would suggest everyone look into it as well.

I don't disagree with you all on the FW issue. I've been battling FW problems since Apr/May of this year. That said, If you can return them, do so; I can't at this point. I just read an article about the EERO second gen; very positive and works perfectly out of the box.
For those who are stuck with what they think are ugly paper weights, changing FW might do the trick for you.
Keep in mind the initial reviews for the Velop were very positive and said it worked perfectly out of the box.
