Re: Problems with new firmware 1.1.2.184933

Well, after having to make sure that only one node was powered up at a time or otherwise network would crash, I finally reverted all 4 nodes to previous firmware. What a avoidable pain caused by poor QA processes at Linksys.

Please let me know where I can send an invoice for my wasted billable time. 7hrs X $150/hr = $1050

Re: Problems with new firmware 1.1.2.184933

I have the complete opposite expirence with the new firmware.

My previous issues were the child nodes where not connecting to the correct parent.  Now with the new release it is working perfectly.  I have a set up of 5 units and I am getting perfect speed (70MB) throughout my entire house.

I feel for people who have problems but I would say try this firmware based on my expirience.  I personnaly think it is a vast improvement.

do you use Ethernet or wireless backhaul between nodes?

I too can confirm that disconnecting the wired backhaul cable and rebooting brings the system back up but this is really bad on linksys' part

Yes, as long as everything is wireless, everything works.

Re: Problems with new firmware 1.1.2.184933

I am all wireless at one house.

The other house I am setting up in the next couple of days is going to be wired. So if I understand correctly the issues are only occurring on wired backhaul setups?

Re: Problems with new firmware 1.1.2.184933

Thank you for all the posts about going back to the earlier firmware.

Woke up to no network, wasted pretty much a whole afternoon resetting it all.

Old farmhouse, Cat6 wired with thick walls, bridge mode on three Velops. Nightmare.

Not impressed. Auto updates now off....

Re: Problems with new firmware 1.1.2.184933

Just adding to what others have already posted;

My Velop is bridged, with 3 nodes on wired backhaul and one wireless backhaul. Everything working OK until 184933 auto update.... after that intermittent connection losses. Wired backhaul no longer working. Just a mess.

I have rolled back to 183316 thanks to the instructions posted here and now everything is back to normal again.

I too have loaded 183316. And so far so good. But I'll leave it 24 hours before I decide if it's better or not. The previous updated firmware only played up after a while.

Hi Guys

Thanks for all the help. I’m going to test it out and see what I need to do. Most likely need to downgrade the firmware.

I’m using Netgear managed switch. Only managed switch cause such problem?

My God... Did Linksys ever test this FW before releasing it? I have to switch off all my child node before I have internet !
