Re: [PING SPIKE] issue SOLVED!!! (if you have ping spikes, this is probably the answer)

[ Edited ]

This solution doesn't help me.

On my Windows 7 x64 ping to router is ok when there are no internet activity.

But when Skype or torrent client (with very limiter number of connection allowed) works it is nightmare:

Re: [PING SPIKE] issue SOLVED!!! (if you have ping spikes, this is probably the answer)

Why is it that even tho im right next to my router, my max speed is only 130 when my router maxes at 300.  When i get farther, the signal strenght also weakens..  When im where i want to be, my speed is between 5.5 and 39 max...

Having the same problem.  I've had this router for about a week now, and while its fine most of the time, it randomly decides to give me 400-1k ms ping for extensive periods of time.  I'm looking for a solution other than smashing the router with a baseball bat.  (As a gamer this makes me oh so angry)

Re: [PING SPIKE] issue SOLVED!!! (if you have ping spikes, this is probably the answer)

I am having the same problem.  I have tried going into DOS and doing command for the Autoconfig.  I've tried changing PCI slots, redoing the drivers, etc.  I'm about ready to throw my NIC and the router out the window.  I have a WRT310N V2 router.  I'm a hardcore gamer, so lag doesn't sit well with me at all.  I have been doing quite well for the past year or so, but in the past week, performance has gone downhill.  Doing a constant ping, I hit lag every 60 seconds.  Normal pings to 2 different websites was generally around 70 ms.  Every 60 secs I would jump to between 2500 - 3500.  I can't tell if it is entirely my NICs fault, as when I get DCed, some of the other routers will show up eventually before my own router does.  Any help?
