I have a similar but not the same problem. Using Windows 10 and this adaptor has been working fine up until now. But now, The blue LED remains continuously lit and in Device Manager it is not only being recognised, but says the device is working fine. Problem is, it's not working at all. Tried updating the driver and it says I have the latest driver.
Anyone have any ideas?

Hi chadster.... Thank you for your prompt reply. I did as you suggested in your earlier post and installed netr28ux.inf and then plugged the adaptor back into the USB port. No change unfortunately.... the LED is continuously lit and there is no internet connection.

Try forgetting\removing the saved wireless network connection on the device and then reconnect.
