Assinging my wireless printer an IP

I want to manually assign my wireless printer, an IP.

I just want to know about the range of IPs I can choose from.

Logging into my Linksys E1200, I see in the Basic/Basic Setup tab, in the DHCP Server Setting section, that it gives an IP address range from 192.168.1.101 to 192.168.1.149.

Now this means that I can assign my printer an IP from anywhere inside this range, correct? Or that the router needs to ahve all of these free, and that I need to pick from one OUTSIDE this range?

Yes, you can use any address within that range you should also reserve the IP you pick in the DHCP reservation table in your router so the router doesn't issue the IP you picked to another device.

Thanks. I was able to reserve it in that table.

I do have anotehr question about how that table functions, here: http://community.linksys.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/DHCP-reservation-table/td-p/987266

Re: Assinging my wireless printer an IP

If you are wondering what IP address to assign on the printer, I would recommend that you use an IP address that is outside the 192.168.1.100-149 range to avoid possible IP address conflict. Use 192.168.1.xx.

Thanks. That clarifies things.
