Tried 2 different browsers. To rule out a bad flash by chance. I just re-flashed it followed by the 30 second reset. Powered back down then up and configured. The button still does not work. Possibly many others have not chimed in on this as most likely. They never expected or even know Linksys has released a new version of firmware. Considering the age of the router.

The router still works perfectly fine other then that. No need to replace it as still to this day. Its one of the best and last router Linksys made that was amazing. Even for open source. The WRT1900AC has way to many issues atm to even think about upgrading to it. Along with open source not being what it suppose to be as promised by Belkin/Linksys.

One think you could try, get on mozillas FTP site, and go and download FF from around the time frame that the last FW was released. try something before and during this time frame. I wonder if maybe using an old version of FF could help this.

It can be the firmware of the router. But if others have a working backup config button with their E4200, can be the hardware. Try using another computer or try disabling your PC's firewall. If nothing works, you may need to manually configure the router if it's reset.

Trying a older browser version is not a solution. I have tried with the latest version of Firefox, IE11 and Chrome. None of them work. Those are the 3 major browsers people use. I have contacted Linksys about this and the ball is in their hands now.
