Router doesn't show up after changing to 5 ghz

[ Edited ]

I changed to the 5ghz band on the smartwifi site.  I can connect with all my apple devices but my laptop can't find the 5ghz router.  It doesn't show up in the list of wifi options.

I have Windows 10 and a Dell laptop if that helps.,  My router is a WRT1200AC

Thanks

Cindy

Watch the video... when you see the network driver, either in gui or command console with ipconfig, you can search on the net for the cards capabilities. If you have no luck just post the adapters name and someone will figure it out for you. Example BroadComm BCMXXXX a/b/g adapter. Would be the name to search with, the xxxx is the rest of the model number

Re: Router doesn't show up after changing to 5 ghz

I turned on both the 2.4 GHZ and the 5 GHZ and now I'm all set.  I didn't realize how many things were connecting to the 2.4 and not easy to change.  Thanks for your help.
