VPN passthrough e4200

[ Edited ]

Can anyone get this to work? I cant access a VPN server - it seems to drop at connection - prob not passing GRE packets - all passthrough items ticked. Has anyone else got this working?

If not I will have to return it.

What VPN Server? IPSec, PPTP, L2TP, ...??

What side? Is the VPN Server connected to the E4200? Or is it the client?

pptp

the vpn server is connected to the e4200 - clients connect but cannot complete the connection - i think because GRE packets aren't getting through.

Try opening the port 1723 for VPN on your router.

Change the MTU size to 1365. Save the settings and power cycle the router.

Also try to Upgrade or reflash the firmware on your Linksys router .

If it still doesn't work after opening the ports for VPN .

Re: VPN passthrough e4200

I have an older model and VPN simply does not work for me unless I disable SPI firewall which is risky for the whole network...when is Linksys going to change this??? ...

Re: VPN passthrough e4200

just go to the Security tab of the router admin page. there's a sub-tab under it named VPN Passthrough. just enable the PPTP Passthrough option.
