Re: WRT3200ACM and USB Storage

With both partitions recongnized now you need to create shares or configure sharing.

Are you using a Windows 10 system?

I wonder with SMB v1 has been disabled on the Win10 PC.

Re: WRT3200ACM and USB Storage

I just checked, it is installed. I still see the share from 4 different computers on the network. Under the share,  I still see MYPASSPORT even though it has been removed and disconnected. I can copy and paste a file to these and when I plug it in directly to the computer, I don't see the file. I don't think I am reaching the drives but a memory cache in the router?

The TOSHBIA was connected to our old router that this one is replacing, Linksys EA 3500. I didn't have to do anything like this, just plug it in and set it up in the router and it worked.

Sorry, not giving up, just frustrated.

Re: WRT3200ACM and USB Storage

I’m pretty sure the root problem is not enough power from the USB port to us large drives. I’m hoping that it’s a software issue with the router and that it will be fixed with an update in the future. Until then, I’d try a drive with external power.

Re: WRT3200ACM and USB Storage

While the MYPASSPORT I tried is USB powered, the TOSHIBA HDD has an extrenal power supply. Both have the Drive cannot be read message. The Toshiba was connect to the old Linksys router that this one is replacing. I am thinking it is an sortware issue as well. That or it is really something simple and stupid, lol.

Re: WRT3200ACM and USB Storage

Update - My drive(s) are working now. I don't know when they started but yesterday, my daughter told me the WIFI stopped working and they restarted the router plus I see a firmware update - Version 1.0.171114.271

Thank you everyone for your help.

Re: WRT3200ACM and USB Storage

Yeah same here. There is another thread I was looking at that’s the same as this. That software update you mentioned fixed the problem. Witch is really great. I was ready to look at other routers...

Re: WRT3200ACM and USB Storage

sorry guys.. I started this thread and have been out dealing with something..   Back at it again and kind of need to start all over again trying this out.  For starters,  the my WRT3200ACM says it's at the latest firmare and that shows it as  1.0.6.184351

I saw someone said they were at  1.0.171114.271  ?

Are we talking about the same router?
